JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE.

Keep it Shining!

Sustainability is at the heart of what I do at EMILYJANE SHOP, so making sure your new jewels last forever is a top priority.
Every piece is made from re-cycled vintage pieces and are 100% plastic free. I only use 925 sterling silver (recycled of course!) and professional grade steel beading wire.
My chunkier gold plated pieces use nickel free, anti-tarnish, 24 karat gold plated stainless steel.

Keep it clean!

To keep your plated jewellery looking its best avoid spraying it with perfumes, so that chemicals do not interact with the metal plating. Don’t forget to remove your jewellery when you exercise, and when swimming.
After wearing, wipe your jewellery with a cotton ball or a soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt. If your jewellery needs more cleaning, clean it with warm, soapy water. Avoid jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps which may damage the plating on your new jewels.

CERAMICS CARE GUIDE

Be careful

It might seem simple but the best thing you can do for your ceramic pieces is to be gentle with them. Though they can take some rough and tumble at the end of the day they are still fragile pieces of work.

For jewellery pieces make sure its kept some where safe, have you seen our trinket dishes and necklace hooks?
All of my ceramic pieces come finished with sterling silver findings so no need to worry about them tarnishing, but I do recommend giving them a quick rub once in a while with a soft cloth, this will avoid a dull patina building up over time.

Avoid grease

Please note, some of the ceramic pieces are partially glazed and have areas of raw ceramic surface on them. These can be susceptible to staining-especially terracotta (red clay pieces) as the raw areas are porous, meaning they will accept moisture. To avoid staining keep these pieces away from any grease, water will dry and evaporate off them, however grease WILL remain a permanent mark.

For jewellery pieces and pendants, avoid putting them on after moisturising or apply perfume. if you have any questions about this please contact us here!
